I am looking to replace some of my golf clubs. I would like to replace my driver, irons, and hybrid. All other clubs are newer. I don’t really care about price. I would like to get clubs that came out just this year. However, I will try everything. I also have no preference in brand.
What do you think of these irons:
Cleveland CG Golf
Nike CCI Forged
Callaway X-20 Tour
Drivers:
Taylormade Burner
R7 Superquad
Sumo
Titleist D1
Hybrids:
Taylormade Rescue Dual
Taylormade Burner Hybrid
Ping Rapture
Adams Idea Pro
Adams A3 Boxer
I have hit most of them, but I will hit one type of club per trip to the golf store due to time, like one day hybrids the other driver, etc. I am only looking for one hybrid now, but may get another in the future. I also am thinking of switching to Taylormade golf balls which would be better Red or Black. My handicap is 11. What are the main differences between them.
Thanks.
I am not buying them all in the same trip. I am buying one item at a time, like one day irons, the other driver, the other hybrid. Kind of like that.
I have hit all them as well I would say
Irons-Callaway x-20 tour
Drivers-I prefer the burner bc you don’t have to mess with the weights. But the R7 superquad is a awesome driver but the weight issue just gets me confused.
Hybrids-Taylormade Rescue Dual I own one my self I switch between that and my Callaway Heavenwood which is good as well but I actually use the weight so i can get a higher ball flight.

Well it seems like what you are looking for is how others see whats in your bag. It wouldnt matter what I or anyone else thinks of these clubs, what does matter is how you hit them. How they work for you. good luck

I believe the best value in golf is KZ Golf clubs. They’re a small company (not knockoffs) but you can get custom fit irons, woods, and hybrids for as much or cheaper than any of the clubs you named. I would challenge anyone to compare their forged irons up against any off the rack brand on the planet. Check their website and see if they have a fitter near you, it’s definitely worth your time to check them out. My favorite set of theirs is the Evolution irons, which could be a perfect fit for you since you’re an 11 handicap and considering forged irons. They have a ton of different styles of clubs to fit your style of play, so I can almost guarantee you’ll find something you like better than the popular brands.
If money is truly no object, check out Scratch Golf or Miura. Miura is considered by most as the best forged irons on the planet, and Scratch is on par in my opinion (and an american company). Scratch modifies every set of club to best suit the player’s style of play. And you will not find a better set of wedges anywhere than Scratch golf wedges, period. Expect to spend in the range of $1200 for a set of irons from either of these companies.
Good luck, and don’t be afraid of the not-so- well known custom clubs. Almost any player can find a perfect set of clubs with these lesser known brands.

Jake, It does not matter what any of us think as far as what is in your bag. What matters is how well you hit them. You say you have tried them in a store. Did you hit them on a launch monitor? The data will tell you what you hit best. Just my thoughts here. On the Irons….well I am not a fan of Nike’s so either of the other two. (I’d probably lean a bit towards the x-20’s) Driver……R7 All the way! (I have hit all of your choices…..I went with the R7) Hybrids…….Rescue Dual. Ping Rapture is a great second choice to me. As for the TM balls…….buy a sleeve of each and try them……Its a feel thing

If I were going to puchase that many clubs, I would stick with one manufacturer, except possibly wedges & putter. I would go with either TaylorMade or Callaway. I would give TaylorMade the nod. I would go with a TaylorMade R7 SuperQuad or Burner driver, R7 CGB max irons, and TaylorMade hybrids. I would go with Titleist Vokey Spin Milled wedges.

Det a set of Dunlops they’re much less expensive and just as good as the popular more expensive brands. Their putters are really nice too!
