No lessons. Most golfers from my era learned the game by watching, got to understand their swing and made corrections accordingly. There are those who are perpetual lesson takers who have never developed a proper sequence in the golf swing.

I have never taken a lesson in my life and i am an 8 handicap. I just practiced a lot and when i did something aright i tried to do it again. I did however watch pros and listen to their tips to do certain shots and then tried to repeat what they did.

As far as need…..that depends on you. In my day there were no teachers around….there were golf Pros….but lessons were not even thought of. I have students today that take lessons every week……I have others that I may see and work with once a year.

Well it depends on the person and how commited they are to the game. If you work hard on your own, then lessons aren’t going to be as important unless you really want to perfect your swing.
